Sally’s* story
A lifelong resident of Western New York, *Sally has spent decades as a devoted teacher supporting children and families — both in the classroom and at home.
As a loving mother of two children, now ages 12 and 13, Sally balances a demanding work schedule while raising her children on her own.
“What brings me here today is just a little bit of extra help,” she says on a visit to Resurrection Life Food Pantry. “I work, so it’s not common that I have the time to be able to get here.”
When she is able to visit, the support Sally receives helps her maintain a steady budget without having to sacrifice other necessities. FeedMore WNY helps Resurrection Life Food Pantry provide that critical support.
In her professional life, Sally teaches students across multiple grade levels, from elementary through middle school, in a social-emotional development program.
But as cost of food continues to rise, the ability to visit the Food Pantry offers reassurance to Sally and her family.
“It takes away a lot of the stress that there’s a backup,” she says.
With that support in place, Sally can focus more on what she enjoys most — caring for her children, guiding her students and strengthening the community she has always called home.
