MLK National Day of Service Projects give back to FeedMore WNY
The Service Collaborative of WNY, Village of Hamburg Parks and Recreation Department, and Hamburg High School Academy of Finance collaborated to host the 13th annual MLK Day of Service Food Drive on Monday, January 20, 2025, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, to benefit FeedMore WNY. This drive collected 13,000 pounds of food for our neighbors in need!
In addition to the food drive, approximately 60 students, family members, and teachers from Elmwood Franklin School participated in delivering meals to homebound neighbors as part of FeedMore WNY’s home-delivered meal program. For many young students, this was their first opportunity to give back.
This MLK Day of Service is a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Whether it’s donating food, volunteering, or spreading the word, your support helps us continue the fight against hunger in our community.
Together, we can honor Dr. King’s dream of compassion and equity.
