Adopt-A-Route Spotlight: PCA Technology Group, Inc.

Posted: September 20, 2022

Employees at PCA Technology Group, Inc. know a thing or two about helping people. As comprehensive IT professionals, they are used to problem solving for their clients in need of technological assistance. Yet PCA’s desire to help others extends beyond tech support. Each week, the PCA team delivers nourishing meals to homebound neighbors as a FeedMore WNY Adopt-A-Route partner.

PCA adopted its first meal delivery route on the East Side of Buffalo in 2002. After learning how vital home-delivered meal volunteers are to FeedMore WNY’s mission, PCA adopted more routes in South Buffalo and Lancaster.

“Seeing the recipients of the food and how appreciative they are is truly inspiring,” Cara Prokop, Operations Coordinator for PCA Technology Group, Inc., said. Prokop noted that the Adopt-A-Route program has provided great team-building opportunities for the company.

“We have all gotten to know each other better, both professionally and personally, by spending this quality time together,” she said.

Delivering meals with FeedMore WNY has helped Prokop and members of the PCA team broaden their sense of community.

“Even in the very small amount of time it takes to bring someone food, we build connections with people who we wouldn’t ordinarily get to know, she said. “Places on a map, areas that might typically go by in a blur from the highway, become neighborhoods with personalities and stories.”
