Last beam installed on primary facility for new FeedMore WNY campus
On July 30, FeedMore WNY celebrated a milestone in the construction of our future home as the final beam was installed on the primary facility of our new campus. We are grateful to all our community partners – including donors, leaders in government, staff, board members and volunteers – who attended our Topping Out Ceremony to mark this exciting progress.
FeedMore’s unified campus will include a larger warehouse and commissary, more classroom and training spaces for our free RISE workforce development program, and more office space and opportunities to grow food for the community to meet the growing need for food assistance throughout Western New York. The new facility is located at 4832 Camp Road in Hamburg, which is the approximate geographic center of our four-county service area of Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties.
We are grateful to our partners at Trautman Associates, Buffalo Construction Consultants and Uniland Development Company for the countless hours, effort, and talent that their team members and numerous subcontractors have dedicated – and continue to dedicate – to this project. Through the duration of the construction, more than 25 companies and 250 workers from various trades in Western New York will be employed in building the future home of FeedMore WNY.
The size and scope of this 197,700-square-foot facility are reflections of the vast need and the pervasive hunger crisis in our community. The new campus will address our current dire capacity constraints and allow us to further our mission to offer dignity, hope and brighter futures for babies, children, veterans and seniors for generations to come.
