Community Action Organization of Western New York opens new food pantry at the Resource Council of Western New York

Posted: July 26, 2022

The Community Action Organization of Western New York has a new pantry in East Buffalo. The pantry, located in the Resource Council of Western New York building at 347 East Ferry, opened Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

The CAO pantry is a longtime partner agency of FeedMore WNY, and the move to this new location will help increase food security in the Cold Spring community. In addition to the food from FeedMore WNY, the pantry also has fresh produce, meat, water, and dairy items from local partners.

In celebration of the grand opening, the CAO hosted an outdoor distribution for the community with giveaways, games, and grilled hotdogs.

Brandi L. Haynes, Vice President of Adult Services says, “We are very excited about this partnership between the Community Action Organization of Western New York, Resource Council of WNY, and FeedMore WNY. We have been working collectively to bring additional food resources to the 14208 zip code for several months and our relocation plan was finalized about a month before the Tops tragedy. We are committed to improving food security, not just in the Cold Spring community but throughout Erie and Niagara counties, with various nutrition assistance programs.”

The pantry’s hours of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
