Contactless Food Drive – Hosted by Dunkirk City School Board

June 13, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Dunkirk City School Board is issuing a challenge to the community to support a “Contactless” Food Drive for FeedMore WNY on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at the Dunkirk High School (75 W 6th St, Dunkirk, NY 14048), from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. FeedMore WNY’s is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to offer dignity, hope and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship and skills training to community members in need throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties.

Today, with COVID-19 and its impact on the community, there is even more of a need. FeedMore WNY provides food to many local agencies including the Salvation Army, Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Food Closet, and our own Marauder Market. The Marauder Market is the first school-based pantry program in Chautauqua County. It provides Dunkirk City School District’s students access to nutritious food that can be shared with others in their household.

The City of Dunkirk School Board is requesting the community’s support with food and/or financial support on June 13th. The most needed food items at this time include canned fruits, canned vegetables, and shelf-stable proteins (peanut butter, canned fish or chicken). Anyone wishing to make a financial donation should have checks made payable to “FeedMore WNY Foundation”. Every donation will help FeedMore WNY continue to provide nutritious food to hungry children, families, veterans and aging community members.

For more information please visit the district website at Dunkirkcsd.org, the district Facebook page, or call the district Administrative Offices at 366-9300.
