FeedMore WNY Reaches Major Milestone with First Steel Beams for New Campus

FeedMore WNY’s construction crews began putting steel in ground for our organization’s new unified campus in Hamburg on February 4th. Truckloads of steel have been arriving over the past several days. The first installation of steel is to erect what will be the commissary for the new building. This milestone is a significant step toward a bigger and more sufficient campus to help us feed our neighbors in need.

Currently, FeedMore WNY is operating with insufficient space to meet the needs of the community. The new campus, located at 4832 Camp Road in Hamburg, will enhance FeedMore WNY’s efforts to serve the community by expanding food distribution and meal preparation capabilities, while being located at the approximate geographic center of our service area. Construction includes more than 13 miles of roof and wall secondaries, equating to more than 70,000 lineal feet. The project also includes the installation of more than 200,000 nuts, bolts and fasteners to build the campus. FeedMore WNY is working with Trautman Associates, Buffalo Construction Consultants, Uniland Development Company and numerous subcontractors for the project, with anticipated completion of late 2026.

The future home of FeedMore WNY will nearly double the size of its existing warehouse space, more than double its commercial kitchen capacity, increase classroom and training spaces for its free Readying Individuals for Success and Employment (RISE) workforce development program, add dedicated clean rooms to repack donated pet and human food, and include additional growing spaces to provide more fresh produce to the community
