FeedMore WNY is investing in the future by centralizing its operations to a new facility in the Town of Hamburg!

the problem

Due to a rapid increase in food insecurity among Western New York residents, current FeedMore WNY facilities are operating beyond their capacity to meet the service needs of the region.

the solution

To continue expanding regional food programs and providing its current services, FeedMore WNY will build a 197,700 square-foot facility to centralize its regional operations on a 74-acre site in the Town of Hamburg.

the need

After reaching nearly two-thirds of its fundraising goal to establish a permanent home for the organization, FeedMore WNY is kicking off the public phase of its campaign and inviting the community to participate in this critical project.

Older Americans Month calls attention to importance of social connections

Older Americans Month, which was first held in 1963, is recognized annually in May. This year’s theme is “Powered by Connection,” which acknowledges the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being.

Meals on Wheels and Feeding America’s nationwide network of hunger relief organizations support the campaign’s theme by raising awareness and showing support for the millions of seniors across the country who seek food assistance.

Through social connections, providing safety checks and delivering nutritious meals, older adults can maintain better health outcomes.

FeedMore WNY receives $3 million in federal funding for new facility

FeedMore WNY recently received significant support from a trio of federal lawmakers to assist with the creation of our new, permanent facility that will alleviate food insecurity and joblessness throughout Western New York.

Included in the recently passed federal spending package is $3 million for FeedMore WNY’s capital campaign. The funding was requested by Congressman Nick Langworthy in the House of Representatives, then protected and fully funded in the Senate by Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

FeedMore WNY’s new 197,700 square-foot facility will be located in Hamburg, which is the approximate geographic center of FeedMore WNY’s four-county service area.
