With uplifting mission, RISE program builds stronger futures
It’s our mission at FeedMore WNY to offer dignity, hope and a brighter future to our Western New York neighbors, and one way that we do that is through our job training program, RISE.
Through each 10-week program, groups of participants can learn essential skills for the professional world and even earn valuable certifications, like the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certification, ServSafe Food Handler’s Training or OSHA’s 10-Hour General Industry completion card.
A supportive classroom is just one part of the RISE program.
We do everything possible to clear the way for our participants’ graduation and continued success.
For anyone without transportation, we offer fuel gift cards or NFTA bus passes.
Additionally, for participants with children, we offer childcare in partnership with the Family Help Center.
Employment counseling, literacy training and nutrition education are all available for participants as well.
“[If you’d asked] me two years ago, where do I see myself today? I would have never told you ‘Oh, I see myself being successful. I see myself about to become a homeowner,’” Xyita Green, a Rise graduate and current FeedMore WNY employee says. “[RISE] affected me in a positive way.”
The graduation rate for participants of the program is 71%, and 100% of our graduates receive job offers after completing the program.
With gainful employment, essential skills and a network of support, our graduates are truly building a stronger future for us all and moving us closer to our shared goal – ending hunger in WNY.
